Current registrations, clinical studies and case studies demonstrate the broad range of ­Mutaflor applications for gut health. This reaches from chronic bowel diseases such as IBS, Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, to the colonization prophylaxis of premature and full-term neonates all the way to the treatment of extraintestinal diseases. 

Mutaflor has also been cited for patients with chronic constipation. For chronic constipation, it may be taken up to 6 weeks or as recommended by a health care professional. Also, effective in normalizing diarrhea symptoms and constipation as well as reducing abdominal cramps and pain. Some clinical studies conducted in Europe on EcN 1917 have shown positive results when used in conditions such as Crohn’s Disease, chronic constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, Pouchitis, as well as chronic diarrhea and ulcerative colitis.

The limitations of antibiotic therapy, which are becoming more and more visible by the development of multiresistant pathogenic microorganisms, heighten the interest in the probiotic medicinal product ­Mutaflor, containing EcN1917 as the active substance. New knowledge about the medicinal relevance of the microbiome to human health have been added.

Non-medicinal Ingredients: Maltodextrin, talc, gelatin, methacrylic acid-methylmethacrylate copolymer, glycerol, titanium dioxide, macrogol (4000), iron(III)-oxide, triethyl citrate, white beeswax, carnauba wax and shellac.
